Our industry, like many, is under serious global threat as gatherings in public spaces are cancelled. We have experienced this first-hand with 17 imminent shows cancelled, bringing us to our knees financially. There is no bailout package for musicians and songwriters and yet, we all desperately need their beauty reflected in the world so we can find our way through dark times. This problem is much bigger than us, and we fully acknowledge there are musicians who will be worse off than we are, which is why we have come up with an idea to help musicians globally, which we hope you will get behind,

Only 4 shows into the tour we are regretfully forced to cancel the rest of the dates due to international circumstances surrounding COVID-19.  Check your emails today for information related to your refund , and please accept our sincerest apologies.  Stay safe, look after yourselves and each other, and we will return to create more musical moments with you as soon as we can make it possible. Donation to Children’s Ground

Through your incredible support of The Cat Empire, 10,400 of you have raised money for the work of Children’s Ground. We have donated $1 from every ticket sold during our recent tour to this inspiring organisation. The $10,400 will enable Children’s Ground and local artists to develop five new early learning books for First Nations children, in two First Nations languages. The money will also cover the publishing costs of the first print run of 1,500 of books. We look forward to sharing these books with you in 2020.

Thanks so much to those of you who joined us for hometown shows at The Forum last weekend.

All-ages shows have always been important to us, so that the next generation of Empire fans can come along and dance with their parents, including our own kids. This is why we are very happy to announce that we will be taking the show back to the Melbourne Zoo this summer, on Friday, Feb 14, 2020.

Since announcing our Australian Tour we have received a barrage of communication and complaints expressing outrage from South Australia for having been ‘left off the tour’. We are impressed by your passion for the band, and your ability to come together as a state to lobby something as important as your need to dance! Thank you for making us feel so loved.

Secretly we always had something up our sleeves which we knew would answer your demand. We just couldn’t tell you about it…

We hope 2019 has treated you well as Summer starts to appear down here in Australia, and the days get shorter where you are. To get you through the winter ahead, the best news we can give you is that we are heading back to the UK and Spain in March 2020 to warm the dancefloor back up  with a  run of 12 shows in your beautiful cities.

There is a big hit of nostalgia for us with this tour taking us back to the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire in London where we used to play in the early days of the band.
